FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., June 2, 2004 - Hyundai Motor America today announced sales of 40,337 vehicles for the month of May, which represented the best May sales in company history and the second best sales month in company history. The Hyundai Elantra led sales in May followed by the Hyundai Sonata, which was recently named the Highest Ranked Entry Midsize Car in the coveted J.D. Power and Associates 2004 Initial Quality Study™. The Hyundai Santa Fe, recently awarded with AutoPacific’s Vehicle Satisfaction Award, also contributed to the record-breaking month.
