FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., Dec. 21, 2004 – The organizers of the 2005 Los Angeles Auto Show gave auto lovers a preview of the Design Los Angeles creative competition by releasing the Hyundai NTT, or “Entity,” concept drawing. The design features a vehicle that is part surfboard, skateboard and boombox, and embodies the ultimate street cruiser.
The two-dimensional design includes a built-in surfboard in its roofline, tandem seating, extra long doors and running boards. It also includes speakers that swing out to replicate a concert experience.
“The design of the Entity is inspired by Southern California’s laidback street scene,” said Dragan Vukadinovic, senior designer at the Hyundai/KIA Design and Technical Center in Irvine, Calif. “Instead of being just a vehicle, it represents a way of life.”
The participants in the Design Los Angeles competition, who hail from 11 different North American auto design studios, were asked to conceptualize the “ultimate L.A. machine.” The winning design will be announced during the L.A. Auto Show on January 6, 2005.
