HYUNDAI HOPE ON WHEELS LAUNCHES 16TH YEAR IN THE FIGHT AGAINST PEDIATRIC CANCER AND ANNOUNCES $86 MILLION IN RESEARCH FUNDING
NEW YORK – April 17, 2014 – Hyundai Motor America and its nonprofit organization Hyundai Hope On Wheels® announce today the launch of their 2014 nationwide grant program to fund pediatric cancer research. The launch event will take place at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City in conjunction with the New York International Auto Show. The winners of 49 Hope On Wheels pediatric cancer research grants will be announced. A nationwide tour will be conducted later this year to present these research grants to children’s hospitals.

NEW YORK – April 16, 2014 – Hyundai Hope On Wheels®, a nonprofit organization committed to helping kids fight cancer, rang the NASDAQ Stock Market Opening Bell this morning at the NASDAQ MarketSite in New York’s Times Square. The event honored Hyundai Motor America’s 16th year in the fight against pediatric cancer. Chairman of the Hyundai Hope On Wheels Board of Directors Mickey Pong was joined by the organization’s newly named National Youth Ambassadors Ashley Burnette and Kenny Thomas in ringing the Opening Bell.

HYUNDAI HOPE ON WHEELS AWARDS $2 MILLION RESEARCH GRANT TO THE CHILDREN’S ONCOLOGY GROUP TO FUND PROJECT:EVERYCHILD
FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif. – April 7, 2014 – Hyundai Motor America’s pediatric cancer nonprofit organization, Hyundai Hope On Wheels®, yesterday announced a $2 million research grant award to fund the Children’s Oncology Group's (COG) Project:EveryChild. This marks Hyundai’s latest move in supporting the scientific community’s efforts to improve cure rates, diminish acute toxicity from treatments and minimize the risk for late effects for all children battling cancer. As a part of Project:EveryChild, Hyundai’s funds will help in the collection of biospecimens from children with cancer at COG institutions around the country. These specimens will then be stored at the Hyundai COG Biorepository. The biorepository functions as a massive database of pediatric cancer specimens that provide doctors the ability to request and access thousands of cancer specimens and previous research like never before.
