COSTA MESA, Calif., - Hyundai Motor America presented a $25,000 check to Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) on Saturday, May 12, 2012 during the opening ceremony of its annual "Walk Like MADD" 5K walk in Huntington Beach, Calif. The walk raised awareness for MADD's mission to stop drinking and driving, support victims and prevent underage drinking. In its ongoing commitment to driver safety, Hyundai was the presenting sponsor of the event for the second consecutive year.
SAN FRANCISCO, Sep. 1, 2011 – To demonstrate the environmental advantages and performance of Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles (FCEVs) while benefitting kids with cancer, Hyundai Motor America has launched the Hyundai Drive 4 Hope. As the official car of Hope on Wheels, Hyundai’s major pediatric cancer program, a Hyundai FCEV Tucson will travel more than 4,500 miles coast to coast for kids with cancer. During September National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, Hyundai Hope on Wheels will award a total of $7.1 million to children’s hospitals nationwide.
SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 31, 2011 – To support National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month this September, Hyundai Hope on Wheels today announced that through Hope Grants totaling $7.1 million, it will fund a record breaking 71 pediatric cancer research projects and programs at Children’s Oncology Group (COG) institutions across the country. In addition, the organization will launch the “Hyundai Drive 4 Hope” tour to recognize pediatric cancer patients across the U.S, as well as host the first-ever Hope on Wheels 5K Run & Walk. DETROIT, January 12, 2010 – In the midst of very cold winter and in a struggling economic climate, Hyundai Motor America is coming to the aid of Detroit youth with a practical donation of 1,000 winter coats. Working with Focus: HOPE, a nationally recognized civil and human rights organization in Detroit, Hyundai will distribute new jackets to the children, families and program participants of the HOPE Village Initiative, enabling them to maintain productivity within the community during the inclement weather in the southeast Michigan region.
DETROIT, Jan. 11, 2010– Hyundai Motor America and its dealers announced today that DMC Children’s Hospital of Michigan has been selected to receive a donation of $50,000 from Hyundai Hope on Wheels™. The Hope on Wheels Tour traveled nationwide throughout 2009 and donated more than $1.3 million to childhood cancer research institutions. The tour will make its final stop at the Children’s Hospital of Michigan in Detroit today at 1:30 p.m. in conjunction with the North American International Auto Show.
FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., July 25, 2008 – In an effort to promote awareness of pediatric cancer and its impact on the Hispanic community, Hyundai Motor America (HMA) featured the “Hyundai Hope on Wheels” program at this year’s National Council of La Raza’s (NCLR) annual conference held in San Diego, California on July 12th through 15th. This is the second year Hyundai partnered and exhibited at NCLR’s national conference.
FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., June 25, 2008 – The 2008 national Hyundai Hope on Wheels™ Tour launched yesterday in Los Angeles with a ceremony to honor the pediatric cancer patients at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles. The Tour will visit 32 children’s hospitals across the country from June through November, donating a total of $1.6 million to support the fight against pediatric cancer.
