Also joining Sonata on the “Greener Choices” list this year was the Hyundai Tucson. The Hyundai Elantra was listed as one of the twelve most environmentally-friendly vehicles available to consumers this model year on the “Greenest Vehicles of 2011” list. Joining the Sonata in receiving this top safety distinction are the Hyundai Genesis, Santa Fe and Tucson. Top Safety Pick recognizes vehicles that do the best job of protecting people in front, side, rollover, and rear crashes based on “good” ratings in Institute tests. Winners also must have available electronic stability control, a crash avoidance feature that significantly reduces crash risk.
FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., July 20, 2010 - Hyundai Motor America is expanding its Tucson lineup with an all-new entry-level GL model equipped with a powerful yet fuel-efficient 2.0-liter Theta II four-cylinder engine for the 2011 model year. The 2011 Hyundai Tucson GL is available at dealerships now and is only available in Front Wheel Drive (FWD). In addition, the 2011 GLS trim level receives upgraded model content and a premium suspension is now standard on the Limited model. The 2011 Tucson GLS A/T also has a higher 36-month residual value than Honda CR-V, Nissan Rogue and Toyota RAV4.
