For Genesis, this is the third year in a row that it’s been honored with the “BEST BETS” distinction.
FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., Dec. 22, 2010 – Four Hyundai models, including the North American Car of the Year finalist Sonata, achieved the 2011 Top Safety Pick honor from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). Joining the Sonata in receiving this top safety distinction are the Hyundai Genesis, Santa Fe and Tucson. Top Safety Pick recognizes vehicles that do the best job of protecting people in front, side, rollover, and rear crashes based on “good” ratings in Institute tests. Winners also must have available electronic stability control, a crash avoidance feature that significantly reduces crash risk.
FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif. Aug. 13, 2010 - The Genesis 4.6 returns this year with 10 extra horses added to the award-winning Tau® V8 engine for a total of 385 horsepower and more standard features from last year’s Technology package. The 10 additional horsepower were added as a running change in 2010 model year and propel the Genesis 4.6 from zero to 60 miles per hour in 5.3 seconds (2010 5.7 seconds). The Tau still produces more horsepower and torque than the powerplants found in the Lexus GS460 and Audi A8. It also delivers more horsepower per liter than any of these V8 competitors. Genesis 4.6 continues to offer buyers the option to use premium or regular fuel. The Tau is rated at 378 horsepower on regular fuel and 385 horsepower on premium fuel and has been one of Ward’s Auto’s 10 best engines for two consecutive years.
