FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., June 15, 2010 – Hyundai’s sleek, new 2010 Tucson crossover was named a “Best New Crossover” in the “Small Crossovers” category by Kiplinger’s Personal Finance. The magazine named the top new models in eleven categories, and the Tucson topped competitors such as the Volvo XC60 and Mitsubishi Outlander.
2010 HYUNDAI TUCSON EARNS IIHS “TOP SAFETY PICK”
FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., June 9, 2010 - The completely-redesigned 2010 Hyundai Tucson crossover has been a huge hit with consumers since its launch in December, and today received another accolade to add to its resume. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has awarded the 2010 Tucson a “TOP SAFETY PICK”—achieving the highest rating of “Good” in all crash test categories including the frontal offset crash test, side impact test, rear crash protection/head restraint rating and rollover roof strength test. Vehicles with a “Good” rating in this final test have roofs that can withstand a force equal to at least 4 times the vehicle’s weight. For comparison, the current federal standard is 1.5 times weight.
