OCTOBER SALES REPORT

Hyundai Motor America today announced October sales of 31,005 units, a 49 percent increase compared with October 2008.  Calendar year-to-date, Hyundai sales are up 4 percent.  This marks the tenth consecutive month of year-over-year gains in retail market share.  Hyundai leads all automotive brands in absolute market share growth, up 1.2 percentage points (from 3.1 percent to 4.3 percent) for the first ten months of this year.

Hyundai is shaking things up at the annual Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance by announcing its intention to launch its most premium luxury sedan in the U.S. next year. Hyundai's flagship, badged as the Equus in the Korean market, will be on display and on the roads surrounding the annual gathering of collectible classic luxury automobiles throughout the week, giving attendees a glimpse of the company's most prestigious model. "We showed the car at the New York Auto Show earlier this year, and the response was fantastic," says John Krafcik, Hyundai Motor America president and CEO.

Hyundai donated air time on its new Times Square billboard video display to broadcast a Veterans' Day parade in New York City. The screen followed 1000 high school musicians from across the country demonstrating their own patriotic spirit and commitment to service in the "NYC Veterans Day Parade of Pride" on Tuesday, November 10.
