May 24, 2010 - Hyundai Motor Company's Genesis sedan and all-new ix35 have topped their respective categories in the U.S.’s 2010 AutoPacific Vehicle Satisfaction Awards. Genesis, a repeat winner, took home the honour in the ‘Aspirational Luxury Car Class’ which included strong competitors from Mercedes, BMW and Lexus among others. The all-new ix35 (known as the Tucson in the U.S.), which launched late 2009 in the U.S. and early 2010 in Australia, earned top honours in the ‘Compact Crossover SUV Class’.
AutoPacific's Vehicle Satisfaction Award measures the satisfication of new car and light truck owners. The study, conducted by the Southern California-based automotive research firm, summarises the results of a survey conducted by 42,000 plus new car owners. Respondents to the survey are owners of 2010 model year cars and light trucks, and rate 48 different attributes which objectively measure the ownership experience for importance from the initial purchase decision, through to satisfaction post-purchase.
Hyundai is continuing its product renaissance, with new models like ix35, i45 and Genesis creating tremendous interest among new car buyers around the world. The Hyundai Genesis, sold in the North America, is built on Hyundai’s performance-driven rear-wheel-drive architecture and offers two powertrains delivering technology rivalling the more expensive luxury sedans in its segment.
The revolutionary all-new ix35 joined the product line up bringing with it a sleek, athletic, European flair and demonstrating the new “Fluidic Sculpture” design language from Hyundai Motor Company.
“The AutoPacific Vehicle Satisfaction Awards are an important indicator that Hyundai is hitting the mark when it comes to pleasing buyers – a very encouraging sign as we bring new models like the ix35, i45 and i20 to the Australian market this year,” said Oliver Mann, Hyundai Motor Company Australia’s Marketing Director.
