HYUNDAI SALES CONTINUE TO CLIMB AUGUST IS BEST SALES MONTH IN HMA HISTORY FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., 09/04/2001  Hyundai Motor America today announced record sales of 34,474 vehicles for the month of August, up 46 percent over the previous year. "Hyundai's August sales set a new best-ever sales record for Hyundai Motor America and extended our streak of record sales months to seven in a row," said Hyundai's Vice President of Sales, Robert Cosmai. "Leading the charge for Hyundai in August were outstanding sales for the Accent, the Elantra and the Santa Fe sport utility vehicle, allsetting new all-time sales records. With the introduction of Hyundai's new 2002 models next month, we anticipate our strong sales will continue," he added. "There are three factors driving our current sales success," Cosmai explained. "First is our consistent marketing message, building the Hyundai brand and reinforcing Hyundai vehicles as the 'smart buy' in each market segment. Second is our focused dealer organization and, of course, there is The Hyundai Advantage, America's Best Warranty featuring 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain protection."
