| HYUNDAI SALES SET NEW RECORD FOR MAY -- MAY IS THE SECOND BEST SALES MONTH EVER IN TOTAL SALES -- -- BEST SONATA SALES MONTH IN COMPANY HISTORY -- FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., 06/02/2004 Hyundai Motor America today announced sales of 40,337 vehicles for the month of May, which represented the best May sales in company history and the second best sales month in company history. The Hyundai Elantra led sales in May followed by the Hyundai Sonata, which was recently named the Highest Ranked Entry Midsize Car in the coveted J.D. Power and Associates 2004 Initial Quality Study™. The Hyundai Santa Fe, recently awarded with AutoPacific's Vehicle Satisfaction Award, also contributed to the record-breaking month. "We're very proud and excited about the numerous awards and accolades that Hyundai vehicles continue to receive across the model lineup," said Hyundai's Vice President, National Sales Ed Bradley. "Even more satisfying, however, is to see customers continuing to vote with their pocketbooks purchasing Hyundai vehicles in record numbers.
