HYUNDAI SALES CONTINUE TO CLIMB MAY SALES SET NEW ALL-TIME RECORD FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., 06/01/2001 Hyundai Motor America today announced sales of 31,597 vehicles for the month of May, up 35 percent over the previous year and marking a fourth consecutive month of record sales. "Our outstanding sales for the month of May set an all-time sales record making it the highest sales month in Hyundai's history, " said Hyundai's Vice-President of Sales, Robert Cosmai. Hyundai's previous monthly sales record in the U.S. was set in July of 1987 when the company posted sales of 30,472 units. "With our new product offerings and improved availability of our Santa Fe sport utility and XG300 sedan, we expect our sales performance to continue at record levels," he added. "In addition to our complete line of high-quality, high-value vehicles, another factor bringing customers into Hyundai showrooms is The Hyundai Advantage, America's Best Warranty" Cosmai said. "Hyundai buyers are covered by a 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty, a 5-year/60,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty, a 5-year/100,000-mile anti-perforation warranty and 5-year/unlimited-mile roadside assistance protection," he added.
