HYUNDAI MOTOR AMERICA SETS A NEW ANNUAL SALES RECORD FOR THE 5TH CONSECUTIVE YEAR

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., 01/04/2006 Hyundai Motor America today announced sales of 43,021 units for the month of December, establishing a new December sales record as well as a new all-time annual sales record of 455,012 vehicles. These results represent a 16 percent sales increase over December 2004 and an 8.7 percent improvement over 2004's record sales.

"We are very pleased with our fifth consecutive record-setting year in 2005 and our seventh straight year of year-over-year sales improvement," said Mark Barnes, vice president, National Sales. "The new Azera, which was released in December, is generating significant traffic among consumers who may not have previously put a Hyundai on their shopping lists."

All Hyundai vehicles sold in the U.S. are covered by The Hyundai Advantage, America's Best Warranty. Hyundai buyers are protected by a 10-year/100,000-mile power train warranty, a 5-year/60,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty, a 5-year/100,000-mile anti-perforation warranty and 5-year/unlimited-mile roadside assistance protection.
