HYUNDAI WRAPS UP RECORD SALES YEAR SALES FOR 2000 UP 49% -- DECEMBER SALES UP 31%

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., 01/03/2001 Hyundai Motor America today announced sales of 17,523 vehicles for the month of December, up 31 percent from one year ago. Total 2000 sales posted a ten-year record of 244,391, a 49 percent increase over last year.

"After a record 82 percent increase in sales in 1999, we were able to keep the Hyundai momentum rolling in 2000 with a 10-year sales record of 244,391 units - a 49 percent increase over last year. This year we added two new vehicles to our lineup; the XG300 premium midsize sedan and the Santa Fe sport utility vehicle," said Robert Cosmai, vice-president of sales for Hyundai Motor America.

"In addition to the high-styled, high value vehicles offered by Hyundai, another factor bringing customers into Hyundai showrooms is The Hyundai Advantage, America's Best Warranty" Cosmai said. "Hyundai buyers are covered by a 10-year/100,000 powertrain warranty, a 5-year/60,000 mile bumper-to-bumper warranty, a 5-year/100,000-mile anti-perforation warranty and 5-year/unlimited-mile roadside assistance protection," he added.
