HYUNDAI SETS ALL-TIME SALES RECORD IN 2001 DECEMBER SALES SET ELEVENTH CONSECUTIVE RECORD

01/02/2002 Hyundai Motor America today announced record sales of 24,413 vehicles for the month of December, up 39 percent over the previous year. Sales in 2001 also reached a new milestone - 346,235 which set a new all-time record for Hyundai in the U.S. up 42 percent over 2000.

"Hyundai's phenomenal record growth during the past three years is due to three basic factors," said Hyundai's Vice President of Sales, Robert Cosmai. "First is our consistent marketing message, building the Hyundai brand and reinforcing the Hyundai value story as a 'smart buy' in each market segment. Second is our focused dealer organization and, of course, there is The Hyundai Advantage, America's Best Warranty, featuring 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain protection."
