AUTOMOTIVE NEWS NAMES HYUNDAI MOTOR AMERICA EXECUTIVE AN "ALL-STAR" FOR 2006

AUTO INDUSTRY’S MOST INFLUENTIAL PUBLICATION NAMES JOHN KRAFCIK TO ITS ANNUAL “ALL-STAR” TEAM FOR ACHIEVEMENTS IN PRODUCT PLANNING

07/10/2006 John Krafcik, vice president, Product Development and Strategic Planning for Hyundai Motor America, was honored in the July 10 edition of Automotive News as a 2006 “All-Star” for achievements in product development. Recognition on the All-Star team is one of the most prestigious honors in the automotive industry. Krafcik was among 20 industry executives honored on this year’s team, which also included Katsuaki Watanabe, president, Toyota Motor Corp., Ed Cohen, vice president, Government and Industry Relations, Honda North America, Inc. and Sergio Marchionne, CEO, Fiat S.p.A.

Krafcik oversees product development, strategic planning and revenue management for Hyundai Motor America. Since joining Hyundai in 2004, Krafcik has played a key role in Hyundai’s 24/7 product strategy, launching seven new models in 24 months in the United States. He has ushered in a completely revamped model line up designed with the American consumer in mind, and championed Hyundai’s commitment to standardizing the most effective safety technologies.
