IAG Research, the TV ad effectiveness and program engagement company, presented the Second Annual IAG Automotive Advertising Awards recently at the 2008 New York International Auto Show. “Winning the IAG Automotive Advertising Award for the Veracruz spot validates that our new ‘Think About It’ advertising campaign is changing the way consumers view Hyundai,” said Joel Ewanick, vice president, Marketing, HMA. “Goodby, Silverstein & Partners developed an unconventional, integrated campaign that challenges perceptions about our brand and the auto industry, resulting in a creative execution that feels authentically Hyundai.” “The honor of having the ‘Most Effective New Nameplate Launch Campaign’ is a wonderful accolade for Hyundai and our team,” said Jeff Goodby, co-chairman, Goodby, Silverstein & Partners. “The award is another indication that the ‘Think About It’ campaign is closing the gap between the reality of Hyundai vehicles and the perceptions that consumers have about the brand.” The Veracruz ads were up against stiff competition from Nissan Rouge and the Mazda CX-9 ad creative. The awards were presented by Gary Ginsberg, executive vice president, Global Marketing and Corporate Affairs, News Corporation, the media conglomerate that owns The Wall Street Journal, TV Guide and Fox Broadcasting Network among others. The IAG Automotive Awards is the only awards program measuring effectiveness of automobile ads. The awards are based on response data from 2.5 million viewers of national television advertising collected by IAG. IAG research measures the effectiveness of every ad and product placement on 23 measured TV networks.
